Mirages

What is a mirage?
I have heard many people ask this question, so I have decided to write my perspective about it in the form of a blog.

There are two types of media, the media that is closer to the ground is called Rarer media and the media that is closer to the sky is called Denser media. when light passes through these 2 medias, it (light) bends, known as a process called refraction. When the angle of incidence is very high, the Rarer media acts like a mirror and what you see is the reflection of the sky. So, what appears as water is simply an optical illusion. Note that mirages mostly happen when you are dehydrated and can happen anywhere.

Hope my information gave an easier understanding about mirages.
